The restaurant was still relatively quiet on this early Wednesday evening. As there were three of us we decided that table top dining was our best option so we were seated in one of the comfy booths by the cheeky and funny host. They have a long bar that runs the length of the restaurant and lends itself to more casual dining alone or with a friend. One of my favorites are the grilled mussels that I just can’t get enough of and I was so happy to see they were still on the menu. They also do very inventive cocktails and interesting micro brews. The menu is creative, modern and has a fun flair. This location is much larger and more open than its sister. The Franklin hails from the South End where the original, teeny, cozy restaurant has been for years and has always been a local favorite. Overall, a really nice night and hope to return soon! More I can't remember the last time I was THAT impressed with a bartender. Talk about being responsible! He was chatty, but not intrusive and extremely attentive. We were far more likely to drink the water because it was there. We told him we wanted something fun and delicious and boy, did he deliver! I think we each had about 5 of them by the end of the night! Also, he was sure to continually refill water glasses next to our drinks. We ordered drinks off the menu, but weren't too fond of them. Our bartender Peter REALLY made the experience. It was more like a pork meatball in a little dough cup. :) The pork shumai was good, but not like any I had. We ended up ordering two more!! In our defense, there are 3 per order. We ordered a few appetizers and the ham and cheese croquettes were AMAZING. We were able to get seat at the bar where there was basketball on the TVs and a fabulous bartender! Best idea ever! As soon as we walked in, we knew it was going to be great! Atmosphere was really nice with low lighting (but not dark). We RAN out of there and headed over to Franklin. Also, in the 3 minutes I spent in there, I had seen enough skinny jeans and. We originally went into Lincoln, which was loud and crowded. I met a girlfriend I hadn't seen in AGES and went to Franklin for a few drinks and appetizers.
